AWANA begins on September 9th. This is a great opportunity for us all to serve. AWANA is for our children ages 3 years old to 6th grade (Cubbies: 3 & 4 year olds; Sparks: K-2nd grade; T&T Boys and T&T Girls: 3rd - 6th grades). Throughout the evening the kids have Game Time, Handbook Time and Teaching Time. During the Handbook Time the kids are reciting the Bible verses they have memorized during the week. If a child goes through the entire AWANA program completing all their books they have memorized about 500+ verses. In order to encourage them in this amazing program, we need YOU! We need ladies (and men!) who can come and listen to these children recite their verses each Tuesday night. AWANA is from 6:30 - 8 PM. If you would like more information about how you can serve, please contact Linda Kay, AWANA Commander or myself. We’d love to give you more information.

Beginning September 14th during the Sunday School hour we will be offering a ladies class with Janis Brackett. Janis has written a 10 week study called “IN GOD’S IMAGE” God Elects a People of His Own, based on Genesis. Janis is an awesome Bible study teacher, you will not want to miss this opportunity to grow under her leadership. The materials are free and will be passed out on September 14th. If you have any questions, please contact me. I will encourage each of us to begin reading Genesis 1 - 11 to get a headstart on the study.

Because life is so busy, I am not offering a mid-week study time. I know life can just get so crazy during the week, that adding one more activity can be just too much. So we will see how this goes and re-evaluate after the first of the year.

WOMEN’S RETREAT is March 20 - 22, 2009 at ECCO Conference Center in Oakhurst, CA. Brochures will be coming your way very soon. We are working on finalizing some of the details, so watch your mailboxes. I know money is tight, so if you would like to begin putting some monies towards retreat, please feel free to give that to me and I will begin an account for you. Retreat is such a great time for us as FBC women to get away and strengthen our relationship with God and with one another. Please considering attending if you never have before. We have a great time, you won’t be disappointed!!

Awana Café is back in full swing this Tuesday, with pizza and other good things for you to purchase for your pre-AWANA dinner. The Awana Café is open from 5:45-6:15pm. All profits go toward the Camp Scholarship Fund.

AWANA has begun! We meet Tuesdays from 6:30-8pm.

You may register your children on our online registration form.

AWANA Clubs are open to children 3 years old - 6th grade.
