A   Brief   Sketch

FElTON   BIble   church

Felton Bible Church (FBC) came into being as a local expression of Jesus’ global people in October 1961.  Since then, faithful generations of Jesus-followers have gathered on FBC’s property to worship God in spirit and in truth.  We today are grateful to follow in their footsteps, “looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2).

From its beginning, the congregation of FBC chose to affiliate itself with the movement of churches known as the Evangelical Free Church of America.  Our long and fruitful partnership with the EFCA continues to this day.  While we value the autonomy under Christ of each local and rightly constituted church body, we relish the fellowship of brotherhood with Jesus’ people around the globe.  It is our joy to walk in tandem with the thousands of EFCA churches around our country.  We remain committed to the expressions of belief so aptly put in the EFCA doctrinal statement.

Beyond the EFCA, we are eager to partner with likeminded believers the world over.  While we are a local church living in the American context, our citizenship in heaven is transnational and transcultural.  It is our ambition to know, love, and partner with our international Christian brothers and sisters, whenever and however Jesus gives us opportunity to do so.

Finally, we are a local church.  God has called us to be ambassadors for his kingdom here in the beautiful San Lorenzo Valley, just ten minutes outside of Santa Cruz.  What a blessing!  It is our joy to experience life with Jesus nestled underneath the majestic redwoods of California’s central coast.

We extend to a you a hearty welcome.  Please come and join us as we together pursue Christ, for his glory and our joy!
